Our Mission
To democratize access to technology education and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth in the Grassfields region of Cameroon, enabling them to build sustainable digital livelihoods and contribute to Africa's growing tech economy.
Our Vision
A Cameroon where every young person, regardless of background, has access to world-class tech skills, mentorship, and the networks needed to compete and succeed in the global digital economy.

Born from a Passion for African Innovation
Silicon Grassfields was founded in 2019 by a group of passionate tech enthusiasts who saw a glaring gap: young people in the Bamenda area had talent but lacked structured pathways to channel it into meaningful tech careers.
What started as informal weekend coding meetups in a small co-working space quickly grew into a full community hub offering structured programs, mentorship, and connections to the global tech ecosystem.
Today, we are proud to be the Northwest Region's largest and most active tech community — with over 500 members, dozens of programs run annually, and graduates working in companies across Cameroon, Africa, and beyond.
Our name pays homage to the Grassfields region — our home, our inspiration, and the community we serve.
Founded
Started as informal weekend coding meetups by 5 passionate developers in Bamenda.
First Bootcamp
Launched our first structured 3-month coding bootcamp with 20 participants.
Hub Opened
Opened our physical co-working and event space in Commercial Avenue, Bamenda.
Partnerships
Partnered with Google, GIZ, and other international organizations to expand programs.
Women in Tech
Launched dedicated Women in Tech program, with 50+ beneficiaries in year one.
Growing Strong
500+ members, 200+ graduates, and expanding to more cities in Cameroon.
